200hr Yoga Teacher Training Diploma

RokCores 200hr Yoga Teaching Diploma is accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals Uk.

Commencing Saturday September 14th, 2019 @ 9:30am - 5:30pm

Sunday 15th September 9am - 5pm

Then every fourth weekend from thereafter, consisting of 12 weekends in total, finishing on the 19th July 2020.

The course will be led by a highly qualified and experienced team of teachers. Our lead teacher is Luisa Rennie, Luisa has been practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching for 14 years, specialising in mindful, alignment-based, breath-led dynamic yoga. 

Luisa has experience in ashtanga yoga, vinyasa yoga, yin yoga, yoga therapy and vipassana meditation, and has enjoyed studying with some of the world’s leading teachers, including Mukunda Stiles (yoga therapy), Shiva Rea (vinyasa flow yoga), Tias Little, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli (pregnancy yoga and yoga nidra), Sarah Powers (yin yoga and meditation) and John Peacock (mindfulness and Vipassana meditation).

Luisa is a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher, a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance UK, a pregnancy and post-natal yoga teacher and a Birthlight Baby Yoga, Level 2 teacher.

With experience in mentoring at the Yoga Campus teacher training course, she has worked with the Prison Phoenix Trust, teaching yoga and meditation to prison populations and has taught at one of London’s top yoga studios, The Life Centre in London, as well as teaching yoga to Oxford rowers, and specialist workshops on stress relief to Oxford University students.

Course Syllabus

Module 1: What is yoga?

History of yoga, why we practice yoga (latest research on benefits of yoga), yoga today (different styles), what is and isn’t yoga, what does yoga mean to us?


Module 2: Asanas and how to teach them

Detailed alignment on all core asanas, including standing poses, seated, arm balances, inversions, backbends, prone postures, with benefits of each and contraindications.


Module 3: Pranayama

What is prana? Map of subtle body. Chakras. Core breathing practices including full yoga breathing (diaphragmatic), nadi shodhana, bandhas, kumbhakas, ujjayi.

Module 4: Meditation

Why meditate? Discussion of many benefits. How to teach mediatation. Importance of regular self practice. Different techniques. Including yoga nidra.

Module 5: Yoga philosophy and lifestyle

Classical and tantric yoga philosophy discussed and how to bring into the classroom. Reading and essay. 

Module 6: Class sequencing and planning

How to sequence to build up to a key pose, to explore a certain theme and how to sequence energetically.

Module 7: Business of yoga

Advertising, Facebook and Instagram, building your brand, building up a teacher network.

Moduel 8:

YMCA level 2 & 4 Physiology & Anatomy

Module 9:

Emergency First Aid At Work Training.


In addition to attendance of the weekend modules, students are expected to work on their self practice at home and at class, to complete all homework assignments, on time, as set by the teacher, to assist and observe other teachers (minimum of two classes) and to read widely.

Application Eligibility:

  • Applicants are required to have a minimum of 2 years regular practise experience.

Certification Requirements:

  • Paying the fees do not guarantee you a certificate as you will need to successfully pass all assignments and attend all modules.

 
 

COURSE FEES: £3200
