Yoga and Ayurveda Workshop, Saturday 29th June 3-5pm
Inform your yoga practice and your life, with this session, exploring how to more intelligently tailor yoga practice for ourselves according to the season, our constitution and current challenges in life.
Often described as a companion science to yoga, the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda (‘Science of Life’) teaches that we are born with a leaning towards an imbalance in one of three ‘doshas’ (‘things which can become imbalanced’), Vata (air), Pitta (fire) or Kapha (water), or a combination of two or three of these (or none!). We also have current imbalances which are not necessarily the ones we were born with. By having awareness of these we can make more intelligent decisions about what style of yoga is most useful for us, or how to shape our practice according to our needs.
Before this session you will complete a questionnaire to discover your dosha, before being led through a practice where you can follow a route according to what you are working on! All levels fully catered for, though most useful for more experienced yoga practitioners. The session will include dynamic yoga, breath practices, meditation and relaxation.
